Spring 2017 Course Offerings
Disciple Life consists of special topic Bible studies that are offered at various times of the week and year. From on-going men's and women's Bible studies to special topic courses offered as part of our Wednesday evening activities, these classes dig deep to find out what the Bible says about particular topics and issues that you may be facing today.
Use the form at the bottom of the page to register for any of the following classes. If there is a fee for the class, you may pay that online as part of the registration process.
A History of the Church and the Reformation
Begins January 18 | Instructor, Pastor Andy Taylor
Join Pastor Andy for a brand new class beginning Wednesday, January 18, as he teaches an introductory course on the history of the Protestant Reformation. This class will utilize the book The Unquenchable Flame by Michael Reeves, and will undoubtedly give you a greater appreciation for your faith today!
This class meets in the Student Center, room #202; there is no cost for this class, but you may purchase the optional book listed above.
Begins January 4 | Instructor, Chuck Carter (C.P.A.)
Learn to reduce stress in your marriage and in your individual life by learning to manage money in a God-honoring way. In this class, you will receive user-friendly strategies and “how-to” tools that are designed to give you more confidence and a sense of control over where your money goes. In this class you will:
- Build character through finance.
- Set a realistic budget that allows dreaming.
- Reduce indebtedness, and reduce stress.
- Hear others' testimonies about finances.
- Invest money for the future.
- "Find” money in unexpected places.
The material presented in this class is Scripturally based (did you know there are over 800 Bible passages that deal with money?). You will receive encouragement and exhortation on becoming a good steward of what God has given you, and you will receive support during the process.
There is no cost for this class. This class meets in room #211.
A Study of Christian Poetry
Begins January 4 | Instructor, Steve Durler
This class will review eight Christian poems penned by Spirit-led authors spanning from the 16th to the 19th centuries. These poems develop Biblical themes that will challenge your faith and cause you to grow in your knowledge of, and devotion to, our Lord and Savior.
There is no cost for this class; however, an optional participant workbook is available for $7/each. This class meets in room #108.
Ruth: Loss, Love, and Legacy
Begins January 15 | Facilitator, Jennifer Johnson
Ladies, join us Sunday evenings at 6pm as we begin Kelly Minter’s Ruth: Loss, Love, and Legacy, a six-week class that examines Ruth’s journey of unbearable loss, redeeming love, and divine legacy. If you've ever felt devastated, struggled as a stranger, longed to be loved, or wept along the way, you'll find a loyal sister in Ruth.
There is a $15 cost for this class. This class will be facilitated by Jennifer Johnson, and will meet in room #211.
