The wonderful cooks here at AHBC want to let everyone know that tonight will be the church’s Thanksgiving dinner.  Make plans to eat with us tonight at 5:30pm.  I must admit, it’s pretty hard to work when you smell turkey cooking all day. Meals are $4 per adult and $2 per kid.

  • Calling All Coaches

Arrow Heights family.  God is at work as we have gone from needing 12 coaches down to looking for 4 coaches.  I know Brother Bob picked up a team and I have taken on another team as well.  If you are looking for a place to serve and have a heart for children this would be a great opportunity for you.  Please let Sheila or myself know if you are interested and we will get you trained.  Below are the requirements and time commitments.  If we don’t have these slots filled up by the end of the week these players will not be able to play.

    Lady Hurricanes             1st/2nd Grade Girls
    Lady Badgers                3rd/4th Grade Girls
    Lady Miners                  3rd/4th Grade Girls
    Hokies                          3rd/4th Grade Boys

Thanks in advance for your help with Upward and reaching a child for Christ!

    Thanks,

    Todd McCoy

  • Living Christmas Tree Kickoff Party

    Dear Church Family and Friends,

I personally want to invite you, your spouse and/or friend to the Living Christmas Tree ‘08 Kick-off Party Saturday, October 4th, 6:00-9:00 p.m. in the Student Center.  Childcare is free but you need to sign-up beforehand.  We will have a fun time together as we gear-up and set the course for this year’s tree.  Brisket will be the main course for the evening.  I just ask you to bring a salad, vegetable, or BBQ beans (one of my favorites).  The church will take care of the brisket, dessert, and drinks.

One of the fun aspects of this year’s event will be the table decorating contest.  Decorate the dinner tables in the Student Center and win prizes!  We only have 25 tables to decorate, so you must sign-up or call the music office to get on the list.  You may partner-up with a friend or decorate the table yourself.  What’s the theme you may ask?  Christmas.  You can decorate with paper or plastic plates, your best Christmas china, or with any other decorations. It can even be a hodgepodge of things. (You can bring silverware or simply use the plastic utensils provided by the church.)  Let your creativity take over and have fun.  We will vote on the tables and award prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place.   This type of event is only as much fun as you make it, so get in there and have fun!  (The student center will be open from 1-3 p.m. for decorators to come in and set tables.)

The Living Christmas Tree presentation will be December 12th-14th.  God bless you all and I look forward to working with you again.

    Come Expecting!

    Mike Neff
Music Minister, Arrow Heights Baptist Church
